Synopsis

The University of Guam Press, in partnership with Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center’s Focus on Life Program, produced a suicide prevention documentary titled One Kind Word (OKW) that centers the conversation on mental health, suicide prevention, and the role of art in the act of healing through the eyes of our survivors. Interwoven in this film are the voices of those often overshadowed in the wake of such tragedy: our survivors of suicide. In addition, the film advocates for the use of art, creative expression, and community connection to facilitate in healing the wounds of suicide. The film will serve as a valuable resource for our island.
